No, I still don’t shoot weddings. I did for a while and nope, they just aren’t my thing. BUT, I love shooting Bridals and Engagements. Bridals are few and far between, but I always have a BLAST when I do get them. We had originally decided to shoot these outdoors, but the weather had other plans. Normally we would have just rescheduled but her wedding date was quickly approaching so we moved into the studio. We did some super traditional shots and then of course, some fun and flirty shots. I think we made the right decision! Now that the wedding date has passed, I can finally post these:

I had so much fun with this couple. They were both a little shy at first, but quickly came out of their shell once we got started. They were a little more conservative than most and that’s completely understandable, so the trick became to show off the baby bump but maintain that level of comfort at the same time. What we managed to capture was amazing….

Another post to show off my newest love:

Meet Claire, she was a bit of fresh air for me. Most seniors come to me wanting the more grungy, urban look and while I have a BLAST with those, Claire wanted more traditional, classic look for her portraits. It was nice to shoot out of the box and go back to the more traditional roots. She didn’t want the graffiti wall, she didn’t want the railroad tracks, she didn’t want the iconic gas pump and rusted barn. What did she want? Her answer: “I just wanna be me.”

As many of you already know, I’ve been on Maternity Leave since the end of March. We welcomed our third child, Claire, on April 21, 2010. Adjusting to life with a newborn again has been interesting but completely magical at the same time. I’ve been shooting on and off since her birth, just slowly getting back into the swing of things, but blogging has been the last thing on my mind, so once again and huge picture post is on the way. Until then, here’s my chance to show off my little girl.

So I’ve told you in the past…I’m HORRIBLE at posting to the blog. So here’s what I have been up to over the last couple of weeks… locations are mostly in the Huntsville studio, but some are in Spring, Conroe and The Woodlands area.

I found your website while surfing around for different photographers and I have to tell you ..you are AMAZING!! I am just starting into photography and your quality of pictures is what I long for. I wished I lived in your area so that you could take our pictures. JUST beautiful!
They say a picture is worth a thousand words and these family portraits prove that saying true. I tried a little vintage type processing on some of these, something I don’t normally do because I am a bit of a “truest” in photography, I think that pictures should be black and white or color. BUT, I do see where finding the gray area or in this case the desaturated area can be beneficial and I felt it went well with the the feeling of the images.

Those of you that follow on facebook know that I update there much more often than the blog. It’s a bad habit of mine, but Facebook is soooo much more convenient to post pictures to.
This is Bailey! What a character she is! When we met is was soooo very cold outside that we lasted about 10 minutes and decided to move it to the studio. What a trooper she was. She lasted thru outfit changes and backdrop changes without too much to say about it, but boy oh boy, did she let us know when she was done….just check out the last picture!

We called it a day after this…

amanda k: i totally hear ya about the wedding thing... i don't do them either! i've done a couple and have been the second shooter before, but shooting a wedding solo is stressful! oh, i love that yellow chair!
