This is Austen.  He is an absolute joy.  We first tried to shoot at what used to be my favorite location, it turns out that there is so much construction surrounding it, we really couldn’t play the way I like to, so we location hopped!  When I say he is all boy, I mean it.  We tried to get him to smell a flower, he played with a rock.  He climbed everywhere and showed NO FEAR when climbing on the big kids playground.  And of course, we played in a fountain.  This seems to be my favorite photo shoot activity this summer!

I even let Austen take a picture with my camera.  I think he is quite the budding photographer….Presenting "Summer Foliage by Austen."

Candid Camera.

August 12, 2006

This session was scheduled to be a relaxed family portrait, but someone had other ideas. Austin really wanted nothing to do with getting his picture taken, so what I caught was a string of playful, unposed candids.  He wanted to explore, chase the ducks and to NOT be sitting down.  BUT OHHHHH, those eyes!

I first met Cade shortly after his first birthday.  He was just on the verge of walking.  He was shy then, but quickly warmed up.  This was my third playdate with Cade in the last year, this time in celebration of his second birthday.  What a difference a year makes.  We went everywhere!  We climbed stairs, played in the fountains, and explored everything!
What has always struck me about him is his soulful gaze.  The way he looks off into the distance, and just examines his surroundings…such the little man.Img_0043blog

Going to the Chapel

August 11, 2006

Meet Casey and Maggie.  A recent engagement session that is now known as "the ant bed incident!"  Thaaaaaaat’s right, I laid on my stomach to take a shot just like I’ve done a thousand times before, but this time my elbow landed in an ant bed.  My daughter gave up counting the bites at around 50.  It was worth it though.  The more I proof this session, the more I have found to love.  Here’s a sneak peek:

A Few Changes

August 11, 2006

You may notice that this blog doesn’t look much like my site.  Well, you are actually getting a preview of what my site is going to look like.  I’m in the process of making some changes and hope to have the new and improved website published in September.  I’ll be removing some of the older gallery pictures to make room for some new ones.  Which pictures on my site do you think I ABSOLUTELY need to leave on the site?  Let me know!!!
