Brand New Day.

October 30, 2007

okay, so I’m not that witty or creative when it comes to coming up with titles for these posts, so I’ve decided to make it easier on myself and just name the post the same name as whatever song I happpen to be listening to at the time.  Those of you that know me KNOW that I can’t proof without music on!  But, I digress.  Believe it or not, this title is actually fitting.  The first time I met Alexandra, she wasn’t too happy to see me.  This day though, she was all smiles, and when she wasn’t, it was big brother Joey or Daddy to the rescue!

I know, I know….I promise to catch up.  So, hold on to your hats because I have about 7 sessions to catch up on.  First up…Aimee.  I told her last night that I would post a few in a minute and then my internet went down, sheesh, but it’s back up now.

For Sarah….

Now, back to my regularly scheduled program!  Marie, you’re up next!

Brighter than Sunshine

October 23, 2007

Meet Tanner and Taylor.  These two were constantly smiling throughout the entire session.  At one point I had to ask Tanner to stop smiling, I was afraid his cheeks were going to start hurting.  They were full of energy and had a blast just playing and running around with each other.  There was a bit of a nip in the air, but it worked out great; otherwise we would have all been ready to fall over by the time the session ended.

The same name game…

October 22, 2007

I met another Jennifer….but this one is a Senior <—– it’s been a WHILE since I said that about myself :( We got thru with the required formal pictures and then had some fun.  Jennifer elected for the lush greenery of her own backyard as the backdrop for her portraits and luckily enough, we also found a patch of brush by her house that really gave her portraits more of an artsy feel to them.  To me, she’s looks like a brunette Avril Lavinge, but you be the judge.

and this was one of those sessions.  Normally, I’m a black and white girl.  To me, it’s classic and elegant, but every once in a while I get a session where I don’t even feel the need to convert to black and white because the color version is so breathtakingly beautiful.  This was one of those sessions.  Mom had dressed Marin in several different outfits that were wonderful - girly, fun and colorful - and the tutu shots are to die for!

Sailor Sammi

October 20, 2007

Well, the day wasn’t perfect, but Sammi was in good spirits.  She brought along her entourage and her favorite Sailor Suit.  At some locations this outfit just wouldn’t work, but for this one it was perfect!

The weather is better…

October 18, 2007

For SURE, the weather was better this time around!  The first time I met baby Kayleigh was a VERY, VERY cold January day.  She had just learned to sit up then and even though it was soooo cold, she was quite the trooper.  This time around the weather was PERFECT.  It was around 80 degrees, slight wind and beautiful.  Kayleigh has BLOWN past the sitting up stage and is a definite toddler.  She had a hard time with the shoes, but other than that has completely mastered walking.  We had fun and played in a fountain <—-seems to be a pattern with me!  And Kayleigh tossed her hat in the fountain too.  I did manage to snap one picture off before the hat got tossed.  It’s quite the outtake, but pretty cute, so I’m sure it will end up in their gallery!  Anyway, these should have been posted 2 days ago, so……

Quite the Workout!

October 18, 2007

I got quite the workout on this session, but so did Addison and Jackson.  They didn’t stop….at all….the entire time!  We were all exhausted and sweating by the time the session was over, but man, was it worth it.  Their expressions are priceless!

Sometimes I get nostalgic!

October 17, 2007

As much as I love to get creative and really get into interesting angles and super candid moments, every once in a while I get nostalgic for a classic family portrait.  They really are more illusive than you would think.  I got it from this session, even though I did stay true with a few more candid shots too!  I kind of wish I could get a classic family portrait of my own family; although that would probably involve duct taping my two year old to the staircase!
